The word inspirational doesn’t adequately describe Jade Ladina, although she certainly is that and more. A spectacular fine artist who works with sacred symbolism, quantum physics and the laws of the universe, Jade has been living with the challenges of a rare disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) for much of her life.
Pain as a gateway to purpose and passion
Although Jade wants to bring awareness to this rare condition which affects her connective tissues (primarily her skin, joints, and blood vessel walls), she is equally passionate about sharing the deeper understanding of life that is given by a diagnosis or a condition.
‘EDS is not what defines me; it is not a problem, it’s an extra challenge. Living with this gave me deeper insight, more strength and more gratitude for everything I can do.’
Jade was born in Maastricht and now resides in the Netherlands, where she creates inspirational art from her picturesque studio, which is surrounded by nature.
She wants to touch, inspire, motivate, and empower others to make the most of life and to see possibilities instead of obstacles. “Life is meant to be enjoyed, no matter what the circumstances”, she says assuredly.
“I’m so blessed, I have such a rich life. Every day I feel so blessed” Jade says in the course of our conversation and she means it. She possesses a zest for life that is infectious. She is far from a victim to be pitied but instead someone you are hungry to learn from.
I’m left in no doubt after our conversation that the path through our pain is the path to our deepest understanding of self and the highest possibilities for our life. Like diamonds formed under extreme pressure, we become indestructible.
As the conversation progresses, I can’t stop thinking that we need to share this wisdom with our young people. If only they could hear stories like Jade’s, they would really grasp their capacity for greatness and understand what it means to live a sovereign life.
As if right on cue, Jade mentions her group 'The Art of Nature' where she connects local people with the forgotten knowledge and skills of the elders, so that they can pass it on to their children. There is no stopping this force of nature.
“It's the forgotten language of nature and the connection with nature that I'm so willing to bring back to people, so they can pass it over to their children.”
About Jade’s Art:
Jade’s journey of becoming an artist began many years ago, when she was just a child. While sitting at her grandfather’s table on Sundays, she was mesmerized as she watched him make breathtaking pieces of art with pastels.
She was inspired by him and helped by her parents to start drawing. Surrounded by pencils and paper, she became better with each drawing.
In 1998, she stopped working her 9-to-5 job due to her condition, EDS.
Her friend Hanny Oomen gave her a canvas and everything she needed to create art. While making this very first piece of art, she felt the meditative calm that came over her, and she discovered she could see the painting she wanted to make by watching a blank canvas. Her hands translated her vision onto the canvas, and she loved this process. She realized she had loads of inspiration to make artwork.
Painting became her biggest passion, and since that time she has started to create art regularly. The inspiring comments she got and her very first sale in 2002 fuelled her drive to create art professionally.
Her passion is the process of painting itself - layer upon layer, until the right intensity and harmony in colour, light, shape and energy are achieved.
“The most amazing part of painting is when the mind, the heart and the hand are working together. It’s in that place where my eyes start to design and my hands translate and create.”
Over 24 years of practice and experience brought her to the perfected style she has developed. She's created a few collections already, and now she’s working on the Enigma collection, where her curiosity for the mysteries of life comes to life.
She has turned her passion into her work, and enjoys the creative life of making art and writing poetry as she sees her vision and dream come alive.
Her teachers and most wonderful lessons are life itself, which is her true school.
She believes that everything on earth and in our universe consists of energy and that we are all connected. She wants to reach out to you through her art.
'I believe in the development of higher consciousness, where love, understanding, and true beauty live.'
Every piece of art is unique and painted with love in her studio in the hilly south of the Netherlands. Her art is like a diary to her, her work is carefully designed as a precious and vibrant ornament, which results in a handmade jewel for every wall.
What Jade loves to share through her painting is that everything in the universe is energy, vibration and light, and that we are all connected.
“We are here on earth to learn lessons, pass them on and leave a positive footprint for generations to come.”
Jade’s work has been exhibited all over the world, from Hilton Hotels in Dubai, Venice, and Budapest to town halls, naturopathic practices, and hospitals. Her art is in the homes of collectors around the world
Besides being an artist, Jade is also an international public speaker who talks about art related, empowering, and motivational topics for challenged people and businesses.
